Sustainability: Gathering next month for “Blueprinting the Information Valet Economy”

For those interested in the sustainability question, you should consider making the trek next month to the University of MIssouri to attend a three-day conference called: “Blueprinting the Information Valet Economy.” The conference, set for Dec. 3 to Dec. 5, is being organized by Bill Densmore, who I originally met through the Journalism That Matters gatherings.

Densmore is based at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, but he’s spending this year at the University of Missouri at Columbia working on the Information Valet project. Here’s how he describes the conference:

Help define and plan launch of an Internet-based, non-profit system that will combine user-centric demographic/privacy management, commerce and advertising sales and personalization. IVP could help sustain journalism, and change the business landscape for news and information-service providers, writers, artists, musicians and publishers and affect entertainment, health care, financial services, privacy and personalization. For details go to: http://www.ivpblueprint.org

I won’t be able to attend myself, but I’ll be eager to see what kind of lessons we can takeaway from it.
